There’s a new triangular addiction calling your name in Mumbai’s Bandra. And no, it’s not another hidden gem, just a secret little surprise that feels like your own party of 25. After successfully driving the city crazy with their coffee and bread, the folks from Subko have set their sights on pizza with SOPI: Subcontinent Origin Pizza Initiative — a speakeasy-style dining experience tucked away on the loft floor of Mary Lodge. Think low-lit pink interiors, a 25-seater communal table, a curated playlist that plays some OG Bollywood hits, and some amazing pizza slices to dive into.

The menu is a playful lovechild between Naples and New York. Expect blistered, airy Neapolitan crusts with the structural integrity of a classic NYC slice, layered with bold, distinctly subcontinental flavours. We tried When Honey Met Thecha, a fiery ode to the Maharashtrian green thecha balanced with just the right drizzle of honey; the Red Hot Manipuri Peppers, which pack the heat of the North-Eastern indigenous peppercorns and the Pesto Party, where fresh basil, cherry tomatoes and marinara sauce came together to have a delightful little party of flavours. The Susegad Slice, a triangular spin on the flavours of the Goan Chorizo Pav with a hot honey drizzle, will leave all the meat-lovers wanting for more.
The drinks are just as thoughtful. SOPI lines up lightly effervescent, housemade soft beverages that are the perfect fizzy companions for your pizzas. We tried the refreshing Matcha-ade and the Northeast Nectar, which paired a ginger bug soda with Himachali apples with Manipuri peppercorns to create the cooler cousin of a ginger ale.

For those watching their calories, there are also two wonderfully fresh salad options to help balance out all the carbs. A charred vegetable and garlic labneh salad, inspired by Yotam Ottolenghi, and a punchy, pink pomegranate Cobb salad, neither of which you’ll be able to skip.
And just when you think that you’ve had one too many slices of pizza, the dessert menu starts making googly eyes at you. There are two options to choose from — a caramel tiramisu and an olive oil mousse. We tried the tiramisu and were instantly dragged into a food coma by the melt-in-the-mouth textures and perfectly balanced flavours.

From the 8th of September 2025, SOPI will be open for reservations. They’ll be running two 90-minute dinner seatings at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, Wednesday through Sunday, with bookings opening every Monday. It’s pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friends along, dine-in only, and deliberately intimate — the kind of place where you can unabashedly groove to Chaiyya Chaiyya in the low pink light, sip on your choice of sodas and enjoy the most flavourful subcontinent origin pizza in the city. Because after all, it’s all about the slice, baby.
