We like our Saturday night desserts to double up as Sunday morning breakfast and what’s better than French Toast to enjoy both. Loaded with bananas and dark chocolate, it will quickly become your go-to meal for breakfast, lunch, dinner alike.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Caters To: Four gobblers
Challenge Level: Beginner
From The Pantry:
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup single cream
2 tablespoons castor sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of cinnamon powder
8 slices brioche bread
50 grams dark chocolate
400 grams banana, peeled and sliced
Maple syrup to taste
Cook Away:
In a large bowl, add eggs, cream, sugar, vanilla extract and cinnamon powder; whisk to combine.
Transfer to a shallow tray and dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture.
Add dark chocolate and banana slices in the centre of two dipped brioche slices.
Heat a large shallow pan at medium high heat and cook for 1 – 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
Remove from heat and serve with oodles of maple syrup.
Gorge on piping hot!
Stevie’s Tip: Add marshmallows to take things to a whole new level.
