Her speciality is the eggless plum cake without any rum. Balakrishnan admits that even though she is not a baker, she has a passion for baking these cakes because her hometown, Thalassery, has a local bakery which is known to be the birthplace of plum cakes. In previous years, besides shipping her cake to India, she has also shipped it internationally. However, this year, she plans on scaling it down so that she can meet the demands easily.
