Juhu’s bustling heart just turned a shade of pink, fuchsia to be exact. The recently opened cocktail bar, The Fuchsia Loft, offers craft cocktails and delicious food in a cosy, living-room-inspired setting. It’s a place where conversations flow as smoothly as the drinks.
Conceptualised by Kishore DF, the man behind the much-loved Tanjore Tiffin Room, The Fuchsia Loft is a tribute to the strength, vibrancy, and stories of modern women. “It is our ode to the multifaceted spirit of women,” shares Kishore. “We envisioned a space where vitality and elegance meet, a sanctuary for meaningful connections and shared stories,” he adds further.
The low ceiling gives it an intimate feel, like a close friend’s embrace. There are tones of fuchsias, pinks, greens, and reds bursting at the right places while maintaining the undertone of a dimly lit cocktail bar; perfect for an evening out with your girlfriends. A panoramic scan across the room makes you aware of the visual symphony of striking artwork, lush indoor plants, and decor pieces on display. The common theme of conversations and connection flows through each; be it the vintage telephone pieces, typewriters, or thick volumes of Columbia Encyclopedias lining the corners. The gigantic poster of Erykah Badu, the famous R&B singer, in a fuchsia hat seems tailor-made for the place, adding harmony to the different tunes of the visual symphony.
The space boasts nearly 200 plants, lined along one side of the room, giving it a sanctuary feel as if telling you that ‘the conversations that happen here, stay here.’ A random look in any direction gives you a glimpse of Kishore’s cinephile side, through the many movie posters adorning the walls. And if you’re looking for a drinking game post a few cocktails, you can take up the challenge of counting the frames (close to 75, we hear).
There’s intimacy, artistry, and a charm that doesn’t feel forced, but flows directly from the owner’s personality and aesthetic choices.
The bar at TFL has a sizable area dedicated to it. The deep-red lighting is inspired by the Parisian bars, evoking a sense of abandon, and nudging you to throw caution to the wind. The sleek bar table has a vintage gramophone placed in one corner, like a huge ear popping towards you, to hear everything you’ve got to share—from workplace woes, and fitness goals, to exes and beyond. It’s whimsical, but also so appropriately placed.
At the heart of The Fuchsia Loft is its imaginative cocktail menu, helmed by the talented Yamini Narayanan. Each drink is a testament to her craft, blending creativity with precision. Signature cocktails like the Feisty Fuchsia—a vibrant mix of rum, apple, mint, lime, and vegan foam—are bold and refreshing, while the Tricky Pick, a tequila-mezcal masterpiece with herbaceous notes, elevates classic drinking. Playful innovations like Paan & Sutta and Chocolate Boy add a nostalgic twist with a touch of sophistication.
Complementing the bar’s ingenuity is a menu of small plates curated by Chef and Business Head Krish Shah, whose previous stint at Dinner by Heston, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and setting up Jaffna Jump in Goa more recently brings an avant-garde edge to traditional flavours. “For me, every dish is a canvas to explore textures, techniques, and bold flavours,” shares Krish.
Standouts include the Kolhapuri Thecha Hummus, a spicy reinterpretation paired with peanut praline and shakarpara crackers, and Banarasi Tamatar ki Chaat, which layers tangy tomato relish with chaat favourites, topped with cornflakes for the crunch. Indulgent options like Kerala Fried Chicken on Podi Waffles with Naga hot honey and Mutton Nihari Sliders deliver hearty, modern takes on Indian classics. Vegetarian delights like Mushroom Galouti Flat Bread and Misal Birria Tacos reimagine familiar dishes with creative flair.
When asked why they only serve small plates, he says, “We want the place to be cocktail-bar forward, so while the plates are small, they’re also filling, while keeping room for some hearty conversations.”
What sets The Fuchsia Loft apart is its ethos of genuine hospitality. “It’s not just about great cocktails or innovative plates,” says Kishore, “it’s about creating a space where people can feel at home, connect deeply, and celebrate the moments that matter.”
Stepping into The Fuchsia Loft feels like entering a vibrant oasis—a place where warmth meets sophistication, and every experience is crafted to make guests feel special. From its inventive cocktails to its playful yet rooted cuisine, every element celebrates togetherness, elegance, and individuality. The mood is elevated, yet says ‘keep it real’. The tightrope of keeping the female energy intact, while keeping it open for anyone who loves a good time is what The Fuchsia Loft is all about. And no man ever did worse with some extra female energy, did he?
