It’s no secret that Di Ghent is a DSSC favourite, the café & boulangerie has starred in our selection of most-loved coffees, ace sandwiches, and the man behind this gem, Bal, making it to our list of DSSC Power Packers 2016. Add to that its striking interiors with big windows and arm chairs, transporting you from the bustling Gurgaon to a quaint cafe in Europe in nanoseconds, and you realise why this cosy little space has the millennium city in a trance.

Eat This
Finding a dish that doesn’t leave you wanting seconds at Di Ghent is akin to finding needle in a haystack. While the entire menu can spot fans in us, we have a special place in our hearts for their breakfast and coffee offerings. Their array of eggs, bagels, waffles, and pancakes can turn even the most nocturnal of us into bright & shiny morning persons! Looking beyond light bites, their pastas, main dishes, salads, toasties, soups, and panini will have you spoilt for choice. Pair these with Di Ghent signature brews & blends and round off the meal with their delish desserts for a trip to food heaven.
Our visits have helped us curate a list of many a favourites, but there are few regulars which are a DSSC table staple no matter what time or food mood; these are the Belfort pasta, Livinus waffles, Guslain panini, Desteldonk salmon, Belfry eggs, and lemon meringue tart. While these treats are a must try, we recommend working your way through their extensive menu to fully soak in the Di Ghent experience!
Sip That
Each bite of the cafe’s sumptuous dishes is matched by a sip of their stellar range of beverages. They have an assortment of home brews & blends for teas and smoothies and also serve Anandini Himalaya Tea brews. Accompanying these are of course, their top-notch coffees, hot chocolate, and lemonades. The Cinnamon Cappuccino and White Latte Macchiato are our go-to caffeine fixes, the Hot Chocolate is our friend on cold winter evenings, and smoothies keep us coming back for that health punch. A coffee date, work meeting, or just some quiet alone time, the liquids at Di Ghent have your back at all times.

As Bal shared with us, “I wanted to create an edgy and minimalistic environment, harnessing the space energy concept which emits a positivity. So once you close the doors, there’s a sense of calm and the vibe of being at a quaint place in Europe. It was important to me to not have a crowded cafe, as that makes it impossible to create an experience for the consumer – which is why I choose our current location,” – and we couldn’t agree more! The sense of peace that encapsulates you as you enter Di Ghent is indeed rare, a goal this Power Packer has achieved seamlessly. From the service, to the ambience, to the food, this cafe is a star which continues to shine bright with its generous servings of coffee, waffles, and more.
