Jaipur Literature Fest is back, so we are here to fill your itinerary with food (don’t worry we won’t make you miss the main event). While we know you are going to be in the city for literature, getting a little more out of the trip is the DSSC way. So, go on ahead and explore the city & its culinary scene, because we got you covered with #DSSCRecommends best places to visit in Jaipur!
Make A Splashing Entrance at Jal Mahal, The Trident
Avoid the city traffic by starting out early and make sure to have a little something before leaving, because the next stop shall be Jaipur! Since you will probably be hungry by the time you reach, we have an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at Jal Mahal, The Trident located just a few miles from the National Highway. You can enjoy the serene beauty of Jal Mahal (the historic palace and the restaurant) situated opposite the hotel.
Head over to Fort Road, Opposite, Jal Mahal, Amer, Jaipur, Rajasthan – 302002.
Rajasthani Snacks for the Evening at Rawat Mishthan Bhandar
Start out in the evening with first stop at Rawat Mishthan Bhandar located 15 minutes away from Diggi Palace, for evening snacks. It is one of those places that believes in the power of good food and while they offer no frills they sure make some fabulous kachoris. We recommend packing some pyaaz kachoris (and mirchi pakora, only if you have a very good chilli tolerance) to gorge on while sightseeing.
Located opposite Polovictory Cinema, Station Road, Sindhi Camp, Jaipur.
Grandeur at its Best at Suvarna Mahal, Taj Rambagh Palace
End the day with a grand dinner at Suvarna Mahal, Taj Rambagh Palace. Breathing luxury and royalty, the majestic ambience is sure to send you in a trance. Backed up by equally delicious food, the lal maas and kacche ghost ki biryani are must have here. Ideal to explore the cuisine in Rajasthan while sipping on tipples, Suvarna Mahal showcases everything special about this historic city.
Located at Bhawani Singh Road, Rambagh, Jaipur.
Soak in the Authenticity at Spice Court
To explore more about the Rajasthani cuisine visit Spice Court for keema batti, gatta curry, lal maas and junglee maas. Located 10 minutes from Diggi Palace, it is ideal for an after fest dinner or mid-day lunch. If you don’t mind a little detour, visit Albert Hall Museum on way. The travel time might increase by a few minutes but the view will be worth it!
Head over to Achrol House, Jacob Road, Civil Lines, Jaipur.
Tipples and Nibbles at Sheesh Mahal Bar, ITC Rajputana Hotel
We have the perfect place lined up for you to unwind at after a hectic day. Sheesh Mahal Bar, ITC Rajputana Hotel does some stellar nibbles like flattened prawns with green apple salsa & murg gilafi to pair with their expansive tipples collection. The interiors inspired by the Palace of Mirrors are absolutely mesmerising!
Head over to Palace Road, Jaipur.
Italian Fare at Steam, Taj Rambagh
In case you are in mood to skip a day at the convention, head over to Steam at Taj Rambagh Palace for an unrivalled brunch. Opt for seating inside the train, so you can enjoy the ambience as much as food. If you are headed here for a late dinner, the romantic seating outside will woo you over. Their menu is #DSSCVerified so feel free to eat your heart out, but we have a special preference for the pizzas.
Located at Bhawani Singh Road, Rambagh, Jaipur.
Rajasthani Specialities at Laxmi Misthan Bhandar
As you cross through the Pink City, take a stop at LMB for packing some paneer ghewar, roasted namkeen, winter special panjeeri enriched with dry fruits, papads and pickles to take home. Their exclusive khamman dhokla will take care of your savoury craving for the moment. Follow up this food-loaded visit with some historic exploration at Hawa Mahal.
Head over to Shop No. 98-101, Johri Bazar, Gangori Bazar, Jaipur.
Head Back Like Royalty with Rajasthani Feast at 1135 AD
While heading back to Delhi, stop enroute for some sightseeing at the Amer Mahal followed by a royal feast at 1135 AD. Murgh ka sula and lal maas come highly recommended, but to get a proper feeling of Rajasthan speciality opt for thaal-e-amber. Finish off the meal (and the trip) with shahi tukda, a speciality from the time of Emperor Akbar.
Located at Level 2, Jaleb Chowk, Near Sheela Mata Temple, Amer Palace, Amer, Jaipur.
So now that we have the itinerary sorted, see you there?
