It is always a thrilling moment to spot an Indian brand or an Indian to be recognised on a global platform. It’s even better if it’s through an established publication like the TIME magazine. Many Indian brands made it to the TIME’s annual list of the World’s Greatest Places to Visit 2024 edition – Hyderabad’s Manam Chocolate, Chef Prateek Sadhu’s restaurant Naar and Museum of Solutions in Mumbai.
To compile this list, TIME solicited nominations of places – including hotels, cruises, restaurants, attractions, museums, parks, and more-from its international network of correspondents and contributors, as well as via an application process, with an eye towards those offering new and exciting experiences.
Manam Chocolate is an international award-winning, premium, Indian Craft Chocolate brand by Chaitanya Muppala. Manam is a heartfelt nod to the brand’s Indian origin and is a collective of passionate crafts people: farmers, fermenters, chocolate makers, and many more who are united to usher in this new era of Indian Craft Chocolate. “We launched Manam Chocolate a little under a year ago with the mission to offer a craft chocolate experience from India, by Indians, for the world. We are humbled to be recognized on a list of global prestige so early in our journey. Being on the TIME annual list of the World’s Greatest Places 2024 – amongst some of the best and most exciting places on earth, is a huge honour for us at Manam Chocolate. It is not just an honour we take seriously but a commitment we make to continue our efforts to build the best craft chocolate experience for the world, from India” says Muppala.
Naar is Chef Prateek Sadhu’s restaurant in the Himalayas. Chef Sadhu opened Naar after shifting to Himachal and he aims to celebrate the Himachal belt with his restaurant. Known for being the force being the award-winning fine-dining restaurant Masque in Mumbai, Chef Sadhu moved to the Himalayas to start this fine-dining tasting menu restaurant. Naar in Kashmiri means fire. “For me, it’s not the fire that we cook on, it is the fire within ourselves, that drove me to here,” says Chef Sadhu to the TIME magazine. “Me and Kamlesh Negi [Executive Head Chef of Research] are Speechless and so proud of each and every one at Naar who have put this crazy dream and vision of ours as their priority. Take a bow team NAAR,” says Chef Sadhu on his Instagram post.
Museum of Solutions in Mumbai is a unique experimental museum geared towards making children responsible, conscious, caring, and mindful citizens of the world. Their unique programming inspires, enables, and empowers children to make meaningful change in the world, together, today. They believe that children play a vital role in educating themselves and others to create real-world change. To unlock this collective potential, children need to be encouraged to make mistakes, dream together, celebrate learning, share knowledge, and think collaboratively. Unfortunately, most children in India are currently learning through outdated modes of instruction based on memorisation and rote learning. MuSo was conceived to address this problem by establishing a new model for child-led, purpose-driven, and curiosity-focused education.
