Scandal. Tipples. Whispers. Nibbles. Glamour. Paparazzi Co is here to capture Delhi, and how! F&B industry’s three magic wand wielders, Rakshay Dhariwal, Shivkaran Singh, and Vidur Parashar, have come together to gift the capital its newest coup.
With the walk of fame stars shining bright from this lounge, Paparazzi Co has added the much missed dose of glam to Delhi’s food scene. High-back chairs, chandeliers, dance floor, risqué art, brazen wall quotes – get set to live it up the Hollywood way. Promising to celebrate guilty pleasures they bring to your plate dishes that’ll have you smacking lips & cocktails that stir you; add to that their line-up of DJ gigs and you know Delhi’s nightlife just levelled up.
As Delhi delights in eating out of our three favourite men’s hands, we take cue from the restaurant’s title and dig deeper – DSSC got talking with the founders to share what goes behind a stellar space like Paparazzi Co.
What brought three ace F&B industry disruptors together to start a joint venture?
Rakshay: We are all good friends, and wanted to work together. All three of us bring a different set of expertise to the table, and the union makes a lot of sense.
Vidur: Shiv is like an elder brother and we’ve wanted to work together for a long time. Rakshay is like a younger brother, however, far more knowledgeable when it comes to the bar market in Delhi. Let’s face it, I’m a food guy! So when the amalgamation of the three of us was brought to the table, it just made sense! For me this business is all about trust, and I trust them both implicitly. Also, following demonetisation, it made sense to get into the alcohol space more. Who better than Shiv and Rakshay to do it with?!
What does Paparazzi Co seek to bring to Delhi’s food landscape?
We’re serving global cuisine, so there is something for everyone at Paparazzi Co. Taking the lead is Chef Rahul Gomes Pereira of ATM, who along with Vidur and Shiv has crafted a menu offering food from Europe, Middle East, India, and the Orient.
Not-to-be-missed dishes from the eclectic menu?
It’s a fairly large menu, while each dish brings something interesting to the platter, some of our must-try dishes are Amal Clooney’s Mezze Platter, Peri Peri Chicken Tikka, Truffle Fries, Smoked Chicken & Rucola Pizza, Pan Seared Jumbo Prawn, Six Chilli Chicken Burger, Pork Chops, and the Tenderloin Gyro Wrap.
What prompted the idea of a Hollywood theme in a Bollywood worshiping city? Does this theme seep into the food & drinks offered by Paparazzi Co as well?
We’re not solely focussed on a Hollywood theme – it’s Hollywood inspired, but localised as well. We love to celebrate our heritage and have incorporated the Bollywood angle in our food too. Also, look out for our Sufi nights, which are scheduled to begin soon.
How does the trio maintain the well-oiled dynamic among themselves?
We know what works for us and are all on the same page. All three of us have a clear vision about what we want from the place and know what to expect.
Favourite cocktail from the menu?
That’s a tie between Bill in the Oval Office’s Godfather (single malt, amaretto, and cinnamon stick) & Woody’s Sinnerman (cinnamon-infused dark rum with apple juice, sugar syrup & lime juice).
One dish on the menu you love to recreate in your kitchen?
That has to be the Tangra style Chilli Chicken!
And that, ladies & gentlemen, is how you add a gem to the city’s club & lounge scene. Ready to indulge the star in you with Paparazzi Co?
