Delhi is flooded with cafes and lounges, but a bar dedicated to top class cocktails and small plates is exactly what we were missing; until now. PDA (PCO DIVA Agenzia) is set to fill the gap on 23 February 2017 and we are booking ourselves a permanent couch. A place bringing together nibbles from DIVA and tipples from PCO with an ambience that allures, fireworks are guaranteed.
A collaborative venture by two ace members of DSSC – Chef Ritu Dalmia and Rakshay Dhariwal, this cocktail bar is the product of a match made in heaven (or the combination of gin and tonic as we say). A gentleman with wizardry bartending skills and a lady whose food will put you in a trance – if we haven’t made it clear already, this is hands down THE bar launch of the year.
Being the eager beavers that we are, we couldn’t wait to know more and instantly made way to DIVA Italian Restaurant for a candid conversation with our Italian connoisseur and martini maestro. After a hearty supper, fun banter and prods to spill secrets, we finally got them talking about the new kid on the block. Ritu says, “PDA is an Italian style aperitivo bar, where food and cocktails go hand in hand, with an assurance that the drink in your glass will be just as amazing as the canapé on your plate”.
The combination of tipples & nibbles is DSSC’s kryptonite and PDA celebrates exactly that union. Chef Ritu reveals “Expect to get delicious nibbles gratis with your cocktails”, Rakshay is quick add in, “The menu showcases the city’s best selection of Martinis and Gin.” Carrying the chutzpah and careful detail from their original ventures, the food and drinks will showcase the same charm and A-grade quality.
While the collaboration has us chuffed, it intrigued us as well and a quick rapid fire revealed the inspiration behind birth of this new cocktail bar. “We work closely on a lot of events and always have a great time working together, so a zany thought at first, we decided why not make it more permanent,” reveals Rakshay.
However, that’s not all, our gin-vincible man shares the one secret not spoken about, until now, “One of the elements behind PDA will be our stand for equality, and celebrating love.” With the city’s two most-loved personalities from the F&B industry at the helm of this smashing new establishment, we are sure it will be a riotous celebration of love, food, and everything inbetween.
Opening doors in Greater Kailash 2 on February 23rd, PDA is the team’s latest haunt. Cin Cin!
